Hear from the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Platform Cattle, Emmet Storer. Emmet Storer is a 5th-generation rancher from the Sandhills of Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an Agricultural Economics major, an Agricultural Entrepreneur minor, and an emphasis on Meat Science. His passion is lives in cattle.
How did Platform Cattle begin?
"Platform Cattle originated on a ranch in Nebraska. It started with an idea to modernize the way cattlemen share and promote their cattle.
This broad ambition caused several pivoting points to occur in the discovery phase of the company. Although during this process we learned we didn’t know how we were going to fit in the market. We just knew we wanted to be in the cattle industry.
Cattle means more than just a commodity, to all of us that grew up in it, we learn a lifestyle only generations can teach and a passion that can only be inherited. That’s why platform cattle dedicates time to building a brand that stands for more, because that’s what this industry was built on. "

What is the problem you are solving?
"Throughout the last several years the cattle industry has been able to adopt and utilizes EPDs as a way to help measure the expected performance of an animal's progeny. These numbers have provided an incredible tool for cattlemen to use, however, this tool has become a dependency on how cattle are viewed and valued."
How does Platform Cattle solve this problem?
"Platform Cattle aims to re- establish the cattle for what they are, to how they are valued by the consumer. It's time to insert the "Cattlemen's Eye" into modern marketing. Additionally, we intend to improve the customer relationships between cattlemen."
What is an example of a product that you are selling?
One product that Platform Cattle sells is BoviBox. BoviBox is a complete high protein mineral supplement designed to maximize forage use in cattle. It helps cattle digest forage easier by increasing the ability of rumen microbes to digest fiber. Learn more by clicking here!
